Hua Hin is ready to welcome international tourists on November 1

Hua Hin is now officially ready to welcome fully vaccinated international tourists from November 1.

On Saturday (Oct 30) Pol. Lt. Gen. Sukhun Pornmainon, Commissioner of the Tourist Police, paid a visit to Hua Hin to ensure the town’s readiness for reopening.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Sukhun met with all key stakeholders involved in the reopening, including Hua Hin Municipality, Hua Hin Police Station, Hua Hin District Administrative Department, TAT Prachuap Khiri Khan Office, Hua Hin District Public Health, Hua Hin-Cha-Am Tourism Business Association and Hua Hin District Public Bus Operators, as well as figures from local business establishments.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Sukhun and his delegation also visited the high-definition camera control room at the Hua Hin Municipality Office that has been set up to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Sukhun revealed how he has deployed 2,000 Tourist Police officers across the country to assist visiting tourists.

Tourists requiring assistance during their stay in Thailand can also call the Tourist Police hotline on 1155, which is available in 5 languages, including Chinese, English, Korean, Japanese and Russian, Pol. Lt. Gen. Sukhun said.

On Nov. 1, tourists from 63 low-risk countries and territories will be able to travel to Thailand without quarantine, providing they are full vaccinated and have a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours prior to travelling to Thailand.

Upon arrival in Thailand, RT-PCR testing must be done again and guests must stay in an SHA approved hotel for 1 night while they await the result of the test.

If the test result is negative they are then free to travel anywhere in Thailand. However, if the infection is found, they will either be treated in Thailand or returned to their home country, depending on their condition. Treatment will be paid for via the mandatory health insurance that is required for all tourists.

Meanwhile, Hua Hin Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul also talked up Hua Hin’s readiness to welcome foreign tourists.

The mayor said that Hua Hin had reached its vaccination target and added that ATK testing kits have been made available throughout the town in case proactive examinations are required.

Mayor Nopporn said it will only be a matter of time before the tourism industry in Hua Hin recovers.

He said that the reopening will eventually contribute billions of baht to the local economy.
