Cha Am – Hua Hin Marathon 2022 to be held in May – everything you need to know


Cha Am – Hua Hin Marathon 2022 is set to take place on May 8 2022.


The event which was originally due to be held in Hua Hin has been moved to Cha Am due to COVID-19 protocols.


A statement issued by the event organisers on Mar 22 read:

“The organizer would like to inform you that the Cha Am-Hua Hin Marathon 2022 which will be held on Sunday 8, May 2022 has been granted permission from the Phetchaburi province Disease Committee to organize a larger event.

“Under covid-free measures for safety and confidence for runners, as well as committees – all employees, as well as preventing the spread of COVID-19 in Cha Am, where the number of infected people has decreased”.


The event, which returns after being canceled due to the pandemic, will see thousands of runners take to the streets of Cha Am.


Runners can choose to compete in one of four distances:

Marathon, 42.195km, 3am start Half Marathon, 21.1km, 3.30am start Mini Marathon, 10.5km, 5.40am start Fun Run, 5km, 5.45am start


Each race starts and finishes at the Methavalai Hotel on Cha Am Beach Road.

There are u-turns at various points including close to the Baguette Cha Am for 10k race, on Phetkasem Road near the Novotel for the half marathon and before Hua Hin airport for the full marathon.


The Cha Am – Hua Hin Marathon 2022 is being organised by the Preserve Hua Hin Club under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Part of the money raised from this year’s event will be donated to the Baan Takiab Environment and Mangrove Forest Fund.

How to register for the Cha Am – Hua Hin Marathon 2022

Registration for the Cha Am – Hua Hin Marathon 2022 is available in English on the event’s website: https://www.huahinmarathon.com/index.php


The registration fee for each is as follows: 42K – 1,500 THB 21K – 1,000 THB 10.K – 600 THB 5K – 500 THB


Everyone running in the race will receive a running vest and finisher t-shirt.

All competitors must be fully vaccinated and have a negative ATK test result less than 72 hours before the start of the event.
